About Me:
Ling graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MPhil in Education, the Chinese University of Hong Kong with an MSSc in Public Policy, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a BA in English. Prior to her doctoral study, she worked in the Chinese higher education and technology industries.


Current Research:
Her doctoral research examines the professional and leadership development of academics in Chinese higher education. The core research questions that guide her doctoral research include: What are the pathways to formal leadership positions for Chinese academics? How do Chinese academics develop professionally? How do they experience working toward achieving PI status?

She is also doing research projects on:
1. intercultural adjustments and adaptations of Western-educated mainland and foreign students in Hong Kong
1. writing for publication of Chinese early-career researchers
2. research publication trends in Chinese humanities and social sciences
